Altavilla della Corte Grillo - Firriato Winery

The Grillo grown on the Borgo Guarini estate fully expresses the peculiarities of its terroir of origin. The hilly climate, with its greater temperature ranges than in the coastal area, brings to these grapes a richer and more intense aromatic dowry of thiols and aromatic precursors. It is the rising grape variety of Sicilian oenology that is usually grown near the coast. Firriato, on the other hand, has chosen to cultivate it in the hilly areas of the Borgo Guarini estate, which is characterised by a microclimate subject to greater temperature swings that, in combination with the action of the wind, make it possible to obtain, in vinification, a wine with a broader aromatic bouquet and greater freshness, when compared to other wines made from Grillo grapes traditionally grown along the coast
