When he arrived in Marsala, Leone discovered a wonderful Sicily, fascinating people and customs. Like that of Anita, wife of his cellarer Gaspare, who produced a unique and bewitching homemade limoncello. Anita and Gaspare had many plants and fruit trees on their land, which Anita skilfully transformed into unique food and drink. The lemon tree stood next to the orange tree, and further on there was a medlar and fig tree. Anita made her limoncello from the peels of lemons that fell to the ground because of the wind and were still unripe and not very rich in fruit. Therefore Anita, who was also a bit of an engineer, ingeniously used them in a different way. With the peels soaked in alcohol and sugar, a fresh, fragrant, thick limoncello was obtained and everyone called her 'The Artist'. Today, our limoncello is made only with Sicilian lemon peels and with an artisanal process that respects the raw material and wants to bring into the glass a product that smells of tradition, a product that evokes a true story, that is both simple and exciting at the same time and that takes you back in time.
