Rum Don Papa Baroko (Canned) - 70cl

An original Don Papa but in a new guise, Baroko shows all its personality and distinctive character thanks to a full and exuberant taste, just like the figure of Papa Isio, a revolutionary hero and shaman from the island of Nigros, in the Philippines, remembered for his wars to win the island's independence. Sweeter and less dry than the 7-year-old Rum Don Papa, Baroko is made from 'black gold' molasses and aged for years in ex-Bourbon barrels on the slopes of Mount Kanlaon to achieve a round, rich taste with great verve!Slightly amber in colour, with great brightness, the nose opens with an explosion of aromas ranging from vanilla berries to citrus peel, then sweeter tones of mango and coconut, combined with slightly smoky tones of caramel and crème brulée. The taste is round, rich, warm, reminiscent of candied tropical fruit and vanilla cream without ever being cloying because, secondarily, comes the freshness of the lime. The finish is long and crackling, from which sultanas and dates also emerge, together with an echo of toasted wood. Excellent to drink straight, on the rocks or for your favourite cocktail!
