The Single Barrel whisky initiative was started by Jack Daniel's in 1997 and immediately gained a good following.Jack Daniel's has created a product for true connoisseurs, everything in the making of this special whisky is carefully followed right down to the cask that will accompany the drink as it ages: it must be made from seasoned oak and already experienced in whisky ageing. After being personally chosen by the master distillers (Master Blender), it is filled and left to rest and age in a special place in the "Barrel House" in Lynchburg, Tennessee. Each bottle of Jack Daniel's Single Barrel bears the identification number of the barrel where it was left to age, so that it can be traced back to the individual production batch, giving the product an additional touch of uniqueness.
